Senegal experienced a severe drought season after its independence. This led to desertification and land degradation. The eating habits changed within the context of colonization. Farmers changed the way they cultivated, now using chemical fertilizers to meet market demands. With the project «Kamyaak Village», we apply old farming traditions alongside new methods of agriculture.
Therefore, we employ models such as Permaculture, Agroforestry, Keyline Design, Market Gardening and Holistic Management. Thereby we want to resuscitate soils and use water systematically to grow a variety of vegetables, fruits, herbs and trees.
